Links

In putting this site together, several websites have proved themselves useful or interesting. The best of these are described below.

If you come across any others, plase let me know and I'll add them here.

other biggles sites/resources

Biggles Topsites
A launching spot for a collection of Biggles related sites.
Biggles.startze.nl
Biggles is huge in the Netherlands, and this site collates an awful lot of information about our favourite characters in the one (Dutch) spot.
Bigglesbooks.com
An online bookseller's dedicated to the works of Capt Johns. Contains some useful research of editions, etc, not just a list of prices.

aviation resources

The Aerodrome (Aces and Aircraft of WW1)
Probably the most comprehensive site for information on the real characters, events and aircraft of the Great War.
worldwarbombers.com
Contains a fascinating description of the experiences of an RAF bomber pilot during WW2.
Australian Aviation Archive
The best place to go for details of aircraft that served in the RAAF. Including some wierd, unique models named after bizarre fauna.
The WW1 Document Archive
Interesting/eclectic collection of photos from the war. Includes characters and aircraft, as well as some more general aviation-related events.
Code One Cockpit Issue
A collection of images of the cockpits of a lot of different aircraft. Mainly modern fighters (which are interesting enough) but also a few older aircraft to compare.
British Aircraft of WW2
Stumbled across this site while trying to find Larapindi's Gull (from Biggles in the Orient). Looks a pretty comprehensive compilation of facts and photos.

other resources

Uboat.Net
Comprehensive portal for all things submarine.
First World War Posters
A fascinating collection of propoganda posters from the Great War. I'm sure Biggles and Co saw a few of these on their occasional trips home during the battles.
