Colonel Raymond sends Biggles, Bertie and Ginger to help resolve political shenanigans in the MIddle East. Accompanied by a diplomat/archaelogist the trio spend their time organising illicit rendezvous between sheiks, sultans, and the occasional princess.
The diplomat, Professor Zorlan no less, is trying to bring together the tiny shiekdoms of Zarat and Rasal al Sharab. These states are slithered between Turkey, Persia and Russia, and funnily enough are recently discovered to be lying atop huge oil fields (else why would England be involved?). The coperation of the two states is implemented in the time honoured tradition of marrying off a daughter and a son from the two royal families. Professor Zorlan's sideline of skimming a few percentages off the oil revenues is thwarted by Biggles, and a bullet from opposing Russians.
Once again the team triumph. This time surviving a sandstorm, a traitor, and a full on assault by a team of parachuting commandos. However you get the impression what most inconvienced them was having to ferry around a garlic munching official who stank out the cabin.
