Biggles Charter Pilot is a collection of bizarre adventure tales from the Biggles & Co days.

Reading like a manuscript for Ripley's Believe It or Not, the tales centre around a Dr Augustus Duck who sponsors the team to fly around the planet chasing up all manner of peculiar tales.

• the adventure of the oxidized grotto - finding (and then destroying) a cave load of orichalcum

• the adventure of the patagonian giants - finding the superhuman descendants of a 1381 British ship lost in Patagonia.

• the adventure of the suspicious volcano - investigating a volcano in Mexico that shoots bullets, and thus uncovering the hideout of a local bandit

• the adventure of the golden shirts - finding another bunch of descendants from long lost voyages
• the adventure of the inquisitive dodos - finding the last dodos on an uncharted rock in the middle of nowhere
• the adventure of the counterfeit crusaders - discovering a secret cell of nazi spies pretending to be long-lost relics of the crusades.
• the adventure of the green horse - tracking a green horse to a mountain full of troglodytes.
• the adventure of the silent death - coming a bit too close to a colony of hypnotic vampire bats.

The best feature of the book is the fact that it is set as a series of tales told by Ginger whilst waiting for a mission in 266 Squadron. In that regard, it is fascinating as an insight into the waiting and boredom of WW2 fighter service; it also provides a definitive list of the members of 266 Squadron:
