The book starts with Raymond announcing Biggles promotion to Detective Air-Inspector. Of course that means there is a favour to ask, and this time it sends the team to tackle the drug trade.

The menace is a new drug (gurra) thankfully only grown in one place. This makes it easier for the team to destroy, ingeniously by dumping a dam full of water on it. And this time it is Bertie who carries the day, destroying the drugs, and the bad guys' lair, whilst Ginger and Biggles are held captive.

[Algy gets to miss this adventure, being on a yachting holiday at the time. Good to see they sometimes stay on terra-firma for a while.]
